More About Us
Bethel Baptist Church was founded in 1954 to give the presence of an American Baptist Church on the westside of Lansing.
We intend to be a presence in the community that reflects the love of God to all people regardless of their similarity to or difference from those who worship here. We believe that everyone has a right to come to the scriptures and learn for themselves what God is saying to them. That may result in differences in what people hear God saying, and our hope is that we will still understand our commonality and how we are all related to God.

Our pastor is the Rev. Dr. Ross Lucas. He comes to us with a long history of minitry: 13 years as a senior pastor, 21 years in transitional minsitry, 7 years as a misisonary with the Board of National Ministries, ABC-USA, 14 years as a pastroal counselor.
We desire Bethel to be a place where people are safe to explore their spiritual journey.
Currently we have made the use of our facility available to a Spanish speaking congregation, the Ministerio de ProclamaciÏŒn. This congregation regularly meets for worship at 4:00 pm on Sundays.
